This is a coffee shop review sharing the best coffee shops to visit and the ones to skip. This guide will cover coffee shops in the Charelston area from Summerville to Folly Beach. These are my true, authentic opinions based on the menu items I have tried. As a coffee drinker, I enjoy sweeter drinks and exploring the seasonal drink options. Keep this in mind as you read my reviews.
- Odd Duck (multiple locations)
Odd Duck is a cute cafe located in a cozy house serving coffee, sandwiches, and gourmet groceries. Everything that I have tried at this coffee shop has been delicious. I have tried their caramel latte, a seasonal speciality latte, the breakfast wrap, and the buffalo chicken wrap. This is a cafe you must visit.
- Harlow and Pearl (multiple locations)
Harlow and Pearl is a coffee shop located in a retro hotel. They regularly rotate weekly specialty lattes. That’s what drew me to their coffee shop. Their caramel latte and their seasonal fig latte was so delicious. They are really popular for their birthday cake latte. However, I tried it and it wasn’t my fave. I would recommend you visit, but you can skip the birthday cake latte.
The first word that comes to mind is delicious. If you are spending the day at Folly Beach grab the Socialite Latte from Center Street Coffee. It tastes amazing and for individuals who enjoy sweeter lattes.
Summit Coffee located in Summerville and is a good place to work because there is less of a crowd. They don’t have many sockets so make sure your laptop is charged. They are good for a standard latte.
Seene is a stunning coffee shop I visited in Summerville. They offer multiple seating areas indoor and outdoor. The indoor space is bright and airy and just brings joy. This is a great place to visit and meet with friends.
I ordered an Ube Baby latte and The Affair sandwhich (Turkey, brie, fig jam on sourdough). The latte was not good at all because the ube flavor was lacking. However, the Affair sandwich was amazing and I would go back just for that. When I revisit, I will try the Socialite latte.
If you are grabbing coffee to go and want to support a local business, visit Lodi Coffee. They have a ginormous menu including breakfast items. They have unique flavors to try which is why I enjoy visiting this coffee shop.
Many people rave about Welton’s Pistachio Latte. Please skip it. The coffee tasted like the Nestle Instant Espresso and its less than satisfying. I recommend checking them out for their pastries.
- Blum Coffee
I was introduced to Blum Coffee in Columbia, but now they only have a location in Charleston. This location is spacious and doubles a wine bar at night. The caramel latte was amazing. They have plenty of space to catch up with friends or to study. They also host cool events during the evening that could be a great way to get out of the house.
