Four Ways to Style Your Graphic Tee

Styling ASOS Graphic T-shirt

Clothing is fun because you can style it anyway you want. I repeat,  ANY WAY YOU WANT.

I just went online shopping at ASOS, which is literally my favorite online store and I got this amazing graphic t-shirt. It says " Don't know, don't care". This has been befitting of my mood lately. I am really in this place where I need to focus on myself and  I don't have time to worry about what other people have to say or their negative energy.

Along with that shirt, I also bought a green skirt. It was when I pulled both of them out of my  ASOS package that I  was inspired to write this post.  I realized that the graphic tee and green skirt look amazing together. This sparked my interest to see what other outfits I could create with this graphic t-shirt. Listed below are some of the concoctions I came up with.

Look 1: Start with the Basics

Pair your graphic tee with a pair of jeans. It is the easiest way to wear a graphic tee and probably the go to for most. Just grab a pair of jeans (skinny, flare, ripped, it doesn't matter) and your sneakers. It's classic, easy, and effortless.

To add to the look,  I would add earrings, a necklace, or a bracelet.

Formula: Graphic tee + Jeans + Shoes + Accessories

Depending on the look you want to give off, depends on how you accessorize with your shoes and jewelry.  Different accessories WILL give different vibes.

Examples:

  • If you wear sneakers, it will give you a causal vibe.
  • Bring out your inner grunge, by pairing your graphic tee with combat boots and a faux leather jacket (as shown above image 2; missing the jacket)
  • If you wear heels and yellow tassel earrings, you are definitely going to look girly chic (as shown above in image 2)

Look 2: Pants for the win

Okay, since its finally summer wearing jeans is out of the question so if you have some pants that you like, wear them. You can tuck your graphic t-shirt into your pants or knot your shirt in the front.

I recently did this with some green pants I own and it was much more comfortable. This option is great because pants are more breathable compared to jeans (in my opinion).

While scrolling along Pinterest, I came across some other cool graphic tee pants combos that were fabulous. There are a decent amount of people who paired their tees with some pretty funky pants and I was like I need those. I  created a board so you can check out the different ways others are styling their graphic tee and gain some inspiration.

Look 3: Let's Take it Up a Notch

ASOS Graphic Tee and White Scalloped Skirt

Now let's get to the fun stuff. We are going to start by ditching the pants and pick up a skirt.

Sounds cute, right?

It most definitely is.

Recently, I have fallen in love with skirts to the point that I actually want to wear them. Before, you could never get me in a skirt. I was too self-conscious of wearing them. Anything could go wrong from me bending down and flashing someone to it flying up on a windy day. But now, caution has been thrown to the wind. Therefore, incorporating my new green skirt into this post is a must. (Side note: I actually did not take a picture with my green skirt on so I inserted a pic above with my white skirt from J. Crew factory. I hope you don't mind.)

Wearing a skirt will add a lil' flavor that you just don't get with jeans. Also, add a pair of stockings or tights to your look if the weather is cooler where you are.

Formula: Graphic Tee + Skirt + Shoes + Tights (optional)

As I was writing this post, I was only thinking of pairing graphic tees with mini skirts, but Pinterest is queen and on there I saw some stunning combos with midi skirts such as this and this. Moral of the story do not be afraid to experiment.

Look 4: It's Getting Hot in Here

This look is very similar to the jean look but with shorts. You can pair your shirt with shorts on a warm day. Then, pull out your favorite lightweight cardigan to go on top of your shirt and, wallah, you have an outfit.

Formula: Graphic Tee + Shorts + Cardigan + Shoes

Thank you so much for sticking with me to the very end. Now I want your input. Which outfit pairing do you like the most or is their another way you plan on styling your graphic tee? I want all the deets.
