Style Diaries: My Journey to Uncovering My Style ft. Anna Grace

Since I began college in 2014, I have desired to spice up my wardrobe. I thought by updating my wardrobe, I  would finally fit into the \"in\" crowd and gain the attention I desired. I hoped that  by doing so individuals would see me as \"worthy\". Which is a crazy, right?  The only person I need to worry about impressing is myself. Well, I know that now.

In the beginning, I just wanted to put my best foot forward. College was essentially a clean slate and I wanted to take complete advantage of that. The need to change or, may I say, create a wardrobe did not become something that I obsessed about initially or thought was required. It was not until further into my freshmen year that I realized I did not have as many clothes as my freshman roommate nor was I as stylish as the other girls.  This was a problem for me and I wanted it fixed. Now, I can see that I wanted to change my wardrobe for all of the wrong reasons. This is probably why it never came to fruition.

There were so many things that got in the way of me buying new clothes such as not having money, buying the wrong sizes, and just being plain lazy. However, I realize this was all for the best. At that time, I was not building a wardrobe for my personal satisfaction but to appeal to everyone else.  These past years, I have spent a lot of time uncovering who I am. This self-reflection has reminded me that I am more than the clothes. Confidence is something that is found within.  With this new mindset, I believe I can move forward and design a wardrobe that is for my own happiness and representative of my style.

Beginning this journey has been so fun. I have begun to discover pieces that I love and go with items I already have in my closet. I recently received a free gift from Anna Grace which is a newly launched affordable UK handbag brand. They provide accessories from scarves, handbags, clutches, wallets, and more.  I had the pleasure of receiving a taupe handbag and furry charm to add to my collection.

Normally, I would stick to a black handbag because it goes with everything. You literally can not go wrong with black. However, as I was browsing through Anna Grace\'s items I decided to spice it up a little. I enjoy items that fall on the brown spectrum so I picked these two beauties. I have high hopes of figuring out how to style them. As you can see below, I have shown one way that seems to work good for me and have many more ideas to come.
