Tips to Navigate Buying Christmas Gifts on Black Friday

Black Friday is a highly coveted time of year and its coming in FAST (less than three weeks away to be exact).

Black Friday has easily become a part of  Thanksgiving holiday, and at least for my family, a time for bonding. Unfortunately, I won\'t be with my family since I am spending Thanksgiving holiday in Texas, but none the less Black Friday is on my list of things to tackle. Instead of sitting on the sidelines like I normally do, I actually plan to participate in Black Friday with my OWN money. There are so many stores I want to visit (virtually) and some potential Christmas presents I want to buy.

Naturally I am a planner and since I am on a budget, I have started to think about what I want to get during Black Friday and how much I need to save. In this post, we are going to tackle buying Christmas gifts for our loved ones.

#1. Who do you want to buy Christmas gifts for?

Make a list of the people that you want to get Christmas gifts for.

For example, this year I plan to get my mom, dad, sister, brother, grandmother, and grandfather something for Christmas.

#2. What gift do you want to give each person?

Now, the hard part comes in. What do you want to give everyone?

Something that is helping me to decide what I want to get everyone is first deciding what I don\'t want to get them. In the past, I have noticed that there are just certain gifts that don\'t really appeal to certain people.

An easy example of this would be my sister who if you buy her clothes and she does not like it she won\'t wear it. Which is just a waste of your money and time.

So if you know someone on your list is very picky about the clothes they wear stay away from those type of gifts unless you are very positive that you know there style.

Go down your list and determine what gift you know each person wouldn\'t want and what gifts they could possibly like?

#3 Is the gift worth buying during Black Friday?

Based off the items you put on your list, is it worth buying your gift during Black Friday? This means, do you think that this is the best price that you are going to get before Christmas? If the price is the same amount you would normally pay I would suggest waiting because it will give you more time to save.

Many big ticket items, like technology, are good to get on Black Friday as well as home ware items.   Also, if you are going to a store like Ulta and they happen to have a item heavily discounted than get it.

Just make sure that you are making the most of your money. A suggestion is looking up the sales stores had last year to get an estimate of what you can expect this year.

#4. Research estimated cost of each item and add it up.

Once you determine which gifts are worth getting during Black Friday, research their estimated price. From these estimated prices, you will know how much money you need to save up to ensure you can get them when Black Friday pulls up. The worst thing that can happen  is that during Black Friday the best sale comes and you miss it because the money was not there.

Pro Tip: Once you know what gifts you are going to buy during Black Friday, you should save those item to your Shoptagr account. Shoptagr is a useful Google plug-in that allows you to save items  you want to buy. On the app, make sure to create a list called \"Black Friday\" and tag all the items you want to buy on Black Friday. If there happens to be a sale on your desired item it will notify you. Also, its useful on Black Friday because you will have all the things you want to get in a centralized area.

Hoepfully, your Black Friday shopping goes well. You don\' t have to buy all your gifts at one time. If the price during Black Friday does not vary much during Black Friday than maybe you can get it later. This will give your more time to save up.

What gift are you looking forward to buying during Black Friday?
